The Bridport Food Festival will be 20 years old this year. Come and join us on 15th June, in Askers Meadow – to celebrate. The event will be hosting an eclectic mix of farmers, bakers and makers from in and around Bridport. 

Tickets £3.50 in advance, via Tourist Information Centre, of £5 on the gate.

This year’s Cookery Theatre will feature Olya, a talented Ukrainian chef specialising in fermented foods, Andy Tyrell from Soulshine Cafe – an ex-River Cottage chef passionate about local and sustainable food – and Valentine Warner, renowned chef, food writer and broadcaster in collaboration with Joe Swift, a familiar face from Gardener’s world. 

Young cooks and their families are invited to get involved at the Young Cook’s Festival Kitchen, making food and art, enjoying the mud kitchen and supporting creative presentations from St Mary’s Primary School.

Bridport Food Matters will have a yurt in the middle of this year’s event, and two adjacent tents – all a celebration of the local projects promoting access to nutritious food for everyone in Bridport. There will be two sessions in which local food producers and community groups share their stories about what they are doing to build our community’s food resilience, followed by Q&A and discussion. Speakers include Chloe Broadfield from The Agroecological Way, Ellen Rignell from Winnow Farm Seeds and Leila Simons from Tamarisk Farm, and David Markson from Food in Community, Totnes. In between these sessions, we will be showing a film What do people really think about food? – on a loop. There will be an interactive model to create a Community Food Hub, and a tent dedicated to Grow Our Own projects. More info about Bridport Food Matters activities here.
